Songkhla, Thailand — Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) strengthened its international presence by participating in the Indonesia Education Fair held at Thaksin University on 13–14 November 2025. Represented by the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) team—Ridho Irawan, S.E., M.Si., Taufik, S.S., S.H., M.H.—and Thai UMSU student Diana Laewang, the university showcased its academic excellence and opportunities for international students.

The event, initiated by the Indonesian Consulate in Thailand, aimed to introduce Indonesian higher education to Thai students. UMSU’s booth became one of the most visited, with strong interest in the UMSU Global Scholarship and various study programs offered.

Ridho Irawan emphasized that UMSU’s participation supports the university’s internationalization agenda. Taufik added that many students were eager to learn about scholarship requirements, showing strong international student potential in Thailand. Meanwhile, Diana shared her positive experiences studying at UMSU, helping inspire prospective students.

Beyond promotion, UMSU also opened new collaboration opportunities with Thaksin University, which expressed strong interest in partnering with UMSU.This participation is expected to boost international student enrollment and strengthen academic ties between Indonesia and Thailand.
