Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) convened a comprehensive evaluation and empowerment session for international students at the UMSU Main Campus in Medan. The forum was specifically organized to evaluate academic progress and performance, assess adaptation to the learning process, and directly listen to challenges, feedback, and grievances from foreign students. This strategic session was led directly by the Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships, Ridho Irawan, M.Si., and the Director of OIC UMSU, Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, M.A., with Taufik Lubis, M.H. serving as moderator. Through this interactive dialogic space, UMSU conducted a thorough review covering academic evaluation, immigration administration, and campus life dynamics to formulate concrete solutions and service improvements.
The evaluation findings and actionable responses deliver significant institutional impact by elevating the quality of university support services. By directly addressing the evaluation points raised by students, UMSU accelerates issue resolution, boosts academic retention and achievements, and enhances overall foreign student satisfaction. Furthermore, this initiative directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) through continuous learning evaluation and quality assurance, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by offering an inclusive and fair platform for all international voices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by continuously monitoring and strengthening sustainable global education networks.
