
Medan – The Head of Statistics (BPS) of North Sumatra, Asim Saputra, SST, M.Ec. Dev, along with his team, visited Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) and was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto. The meeting aimed to strengthen the five-year collaboration between BPS and UMSU, particularly through the establishment of the Pojok Statistik (Statistics Corner) within the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The discussion was highly interactive, with participants exchanging insights and constructive feedback. Asim Saputra reaffirmed BPS’s commitment to providing comprehensive data, including from remote villages, in collaboration with universities. He emphasized the importance of student involvement in tackling Indonesia’s socio-economic challenges, particularly poverty, which requires tailored solutions for each region.
The event was attended by representatives from various UMSU institutions, including the Office of International Cooperation (OIC), Career Development and Alumni Center (CDAC), Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), as well as faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).
