
Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), through the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FIKTI), marked a significant milestone in international academic collaboration by hosting a Visiting Professor Program in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).
The event featured two distinguished international scholars. Prof. Ir. Dr. R. Badlishah Ahmad from UniMAP delivered a visionary lecture entitled “The Invisible Threads: Navigating Future Connectivity from 6G to Zigbee”, highlighting emerging trends and challenges in next-generation communication technologies. Meanwhile, Prof. Ts. Dr. Saiful Bahri Bin Mohamed from UniSZA presented an advanced topic on “Integrated STEP AP203 & AP242 Framework for CNC Machining, Inspection, and Future Digital Manufacturing,” offering insights into the integration of digital manufacturing standards and smart production systems.
The Visiting Professor Program was held today at UMSU, bringing together academics, researchers, and students in a high-level scholarly forum aimed at strengthening knowledge exchange and research collaboration across borders.
The program was officially welcomed by the Dean of FIKTI UMSU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Al-Khowarizmi, M.Kom, along with the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) UMSU team, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to global engagement and academic excellence.
This initiative was organized to enhance international cooperation, broaden academic perspectives, and encourage collaborative research in the fields of future connectivity, digital manufacturing, and advanced information technologies.
Through interactive lectures and academic discussions, the program successfully fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas, stimulated intellectual curiosity among participants, and reinforced strategic partnerships between UMSU, UniMAP, and UniSZA in advancing future-oriented technologies and sustainable digital ecosystems.
