Universiti Utara Malaysia visited the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) in order to strengthen the cooperation between the two higher education institutions in the ASEAN region. The visit was conducted on Thursday at the UMSU Campus Meeting Room, Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan.
The meeting, which was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor I of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, S.H., M.Hum, discussed the continuation of the cooperation planning from the strategic partnership that has been established between UMSU and UUM for the past few years.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of UUM Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Fo’ad bin Sakdan expressed his happiness to be able to return to UMSU and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in a strategic framework for mutual progress.
“I myself have visited UMSU. Alhamdulillah, the relationship between UUM and UMSU has been established for a long time. God willing, this collaboration will provide great benefits for students and our nation’s children in the future,” he said. Previously, UUM and UMSU had collaborated on online learning, student and lecturer exchanges, and exchanging experiences on university management.
Then, Vice Chancellor 1 of UMSU Prof. Arifin expressed his appreciation for this visit and emphasized that the good relationship between UUM and UMSU has been established for a long time.
“Welcome to UMSU, Ladies and Gentlemen from UUM. Of course, this is not the first time UMSU has collaborated. We hope that the collaboration that has been built can continue, not only in the Faculty of Law, but also involving other faculties. Or student exchange programs and visiting lecturer programs can be concrete steps forward,” said WR 1.
This meeting was continued with the submission of a LoI (Letter of Intent) and a discussion regarding plans for international cooperation.Also present were the Faculty Leaders, Head of LPPM Dr. Muhammad Fitra Zambak, ST., M.Sc, OIC Team, and International Class Students at UMSU.This meeting is expected to be a positive momentum to expand the scope of cooperation in the academic, research, and human resource development fields between the two universities.
