On August 21, 2024, the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), led by Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP., Vice Rector Prof. Akrim, M.Pd, Dean of Faculty Medicine dr. Siti Masliana Siregar Sp. T.H.T.B.K.L., Subsp.Rino(K) and team conducted an official visit to the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This visit was warmly welcomed by FELDA, represented by Puan Izyani, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the FELDA Foundation.
During the visit, the UMSU delegation had the opportunity to directly observe the hemodialysis services provided by FELDA as part of its healthcare program. This service is one of the three main focuses of FELDA in contributing to the Malaysian society, namely in the fields of education, healthcare, and charitable programs. In education, FELDA offers opportunities for Malaysian citizens to obtain free education. In healthcare, FELDA provides hemodialysis services for those in need of medical care. Meanwhile, through its charitable programs, FELDA extends assistance to Malaysian citizens requiring support.

Prof. Agussani, accompanied by Puan Izyani, directly observed the hemodialysis process undergone by patients, which typically lasts for about four hours. This experience provided a tangible insight into FELDA’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the Malaysian community through its healthcare services.
Following the visit to the healthcare facilities, Puan Izyani and her team invited the UMSU representatives to enjoy an afternoon meal at a FELDA-owned restaurant that serves traditional Malay cuisine. This moment further strengthened the rapport between the two institutions and reinforced the potential for future collaborations.
This visit not only strengthened the relationship between UMSU and FELDA but also opened up opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
