

The Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) and the Selangor and Allied Region Student Association of Universiti Sains Malaysia (PERMAS USM) held a cultural exchange performance entitled “Unity in Diversity: Cultural Exchange Tour in Indonesia”.
On Friday (31/5), activities featuring traditional dances and cultural performances from each country took place at the UMSU Campus Auditorium, Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan.
UMSU Deputy Chancellor III, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, who opened this activity, stated that the relationship between UMSU and USM Malaysia is very close, so that various programs will be implemented as a result of this collaboration. Apart from that, UMSU has also received recognition from MQA Malaysia.
This activity not only strengthens bilateral relations between the two universities but also provides an opportunity for students from both countries to get to know each other and understand each other’s culture. With a variety of stunning performances, ranging from traditional dances to musical performances, this event succeeded in attracting the attention and appreciation of the audience.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si added that recognition from MQA Malaysia is proof of the quality of education at UMSU which is recognized internationally. He hopes that, through cultural exchange activities like this, students can increase their insight and experience in understanding cultural diversity.
It is hoped that this cultural exchange activity can become a strong bridge between UMSU and USM, as well as expand the network of academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions. In the future, both universities plan to continue developing collaborative programs that are beneficial to students and the wider community.
