
The Research Lecture Program organized by the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), was successfully conducted on Monday, 26 January 2026. The program took place at the Auditorium of the UMPSA Library, Gambang Campus, from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., serving as a strategic academic forum for knowledge sharing and scholarly exchange.
The session featured four distinguished lecturers from UMSU, namely Prof. Dr. Dafni Mawar Tarigan, S.P., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Dr. Ir. Wan Arfiani Barus, M.P.; Dr. Ir. Desi Ardilla, M.P.; and Bunga Raya Ketaren, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. The speakers delivered comprehensive and insightful presentations focusing on key research areas, including food security, sustainable agriculture, halal production systems, and postharvest technology, all of which are highly relevant to current global challenges.
This Research Lecture marked one of the initial strategic initiatives aimed at establishing and strengthening research collaboration between UMSU and FSTI–UMPSA. Through this academic engagement, both institutions are expected to expand opportunities for long-term cooperation in research, innovation, and academic capacity building at the international level.
The Management of FSTI extends its sincere congratulations to the FSTI Research Cluster and the administrative staff involved for their commitment and successful organization of this program. Appreciation is also conveyed to all FSTI academic staff who participated and contributed to the productive discussions and enriching academic atmosphere throughout the session.
