EducationUSA Center Medan organized a Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), aiming to prepare students who are about to continue their studies in the United States. The event, held on Saturday (20/07), took place in the Rector’s Meeting Room at UMSU, Jalan Kapten Muchtar Basri No.3, Medan.
The event was attended by The Acting US Consul, Kristy Mordhorst, Fulbright Alumna, Prof. Dr. Rahmah Fithriani, and EducationUSA Medan Adviser, Dimas Samudra, along with the team from the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation at UMSU.
This event combined live streaming sessions from @america with local panel discussions in Medan, providing participants with the opportunity to gain essential knowledge and build supportive networks before departing for the United States. With the theme ‘Innovation and Creativity in Youth Empowerment,’ this PDO offered comprehensive guidance on visa requirements, cultural integration, academic expectations, and resources for success in the United States.
