The Thai people greatly appreciate the presence of the Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) at the 2024 Asean Fatoni Book Fair held on Friday-Sunday (6-8/9) at the University Fatoni ASEAN Mall, Thailand.
Present at this event, UMSU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP who was represented by the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Zailani, M.A., accompanied by the Head of UMSU Press, Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Pd and secretary, Fimanda Arlita, M.Pd.
UMSU represented by UMSU Press, presented hundreds of books on religion, politics, language, education, medicine, agriculture, computers, novels and others. The presence of UMSU was enthusiastically welcomed by the people of Pattani, Thailand who attended this first book party.
The visitors were very crowded, from children to adults, not only looking at the collections on display, but they also bought so that there were dozens of books published by UMSU Press that sold well.
Appreciation from various figures was conveyed to UMSU, starting from the Chancellor of Fatoni University, Prof. Dr. Ismail Lufti who thanked UMSU as the representative of Indonesia and he hoped that this cooperation would continue to be improved in various ways.
Then, the Indonesian Consul of Songkhla, Suargana Pringganu appreciated the presence of UMSU which participated in the ASEAN Fatoni Book Fair 2024. He hoped that UMSU’s participation would open and strengthen educational cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand.
Finally, the Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Social Sciences, Fatoni University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Maplee and the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. Suraiya Chapakia appreciated the presence of UMSU which was very inspiring.
Not only participating in the exhibition, but the Head of UMSU Press, Muhammad Arifin also filled the book writing training session in front of lecturers, students and principals in Thailand.
