The Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) has sent 84 students abroad as part of the “Student Mobility Program,” which encompasses destinations including Saudi Arabia (Madinah), Penang and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Thailand, and Cambodia.
This program features Community Service (KKN), internships, and International Teaching Assistance, and is scheduled to run from August 2024 to March 2025. The official departure ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 30, at the FKIP UMSU Auditorium, Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qorib, M.A., Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, presided over the send-off. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the institution’s esteemed reputation throughout their international KKN endeavors, as well as for those engaged in KKN activities in the most remote, underserved, and isolated regions of North Sumatra.
