The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) UMSU held an International Community Service Program (KKN) in Saudi Arabia, Madina. This activity was carried out from Monday-9 – 28 September 2024.
The UMSU FAI group was enthusiastically welcomed by the Leadership and staff of the Special Muhammadiyah Branch (PCIM) of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of PCIM, Ust. Hanif Asadudin, Chairman of LPRI, Ust. Dzulfiqar Ahmad Rabbani; Secretary of PCIM, Mahfudz Ridwan; and Chairman of LHI, Ust. Fakhrur Rozi.
In his remarks, Ust. Hanif Asadudin expressed his high appreciation for the implementation of this international KKN and hoped that similar activities could continue to be carried out sustainably.
“We hope that this KKN program will benefit the Indonesian people in Saudi Arabia, especially in Madinah. Especially for children who are still studying at elementary, middle, and high school levels, so that KKN students can share information related to the learning system in Indonesia,” said Ust. Hanif.
Meanwhile, the representative of UMSU, Deputy Dean III of FAI, Dr. Munawir Pasaribu, M.A, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from PCIM Saudi Arabia. He also explained that the implementation of the UMSU FAI International KKN this year involved four countries, namely Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Thailand, Cambodia, and Saudi Arabia.
The WD II of FAI also added that UMSU has currently achieved a ranking at the world university level, so the implementation of international activities is very important, not only for students, but also lecturers.
“We hope that this cooperation can continue to be established, especially after a year ago we started this cooperation. International activities like this must continue to be encouraged to improve the quality and global experience of students and lecturers,” concluded Munawir.
The International KKN Program is expected to strengthen relations between students, lecturers, and the Indonesian community abroad, as well as provide a positive contribution to the development of education in the country.
