Appearing to present a folk tale from North Sumatra, “Legend of Lake Toba”, UMSU foreign students from Cambodia and BIPA students who are currently studying in the English Language Education Study Program, won second place in storytelling at the 2024 International Handai Indonesia Festival (FHI).
The award was handed over directly by the Head of the Language Agency of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. E. Aminuddin Azis, M.A., P. Hd. And the Head of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education’s Language Strengthening and Empowerment Center, Dr. Iwa Lukmana M.A. on Friday (30/8) in Bali.
Competing against 580 participants from 48 countries, Kreyya captivated the audience by retelling the legend of Lake Toba with such passion, earning her this remarkable achievement. Her success is a testament to the impact of our Center of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) at UMSU, which continues to empower our international students.
