Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) was honored to attend the Appreciation–Welcome Gathering hosted by the Consul-General of the Republic of Singapore in Medan, Dr. Edmund Chia, and Mrs. Huei-Ying Chia, as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and educational ties between Indonesia and Singapore.
The event warmly welcomed the arrival of Consul Yap Wee Ping and Consul Ushadevi D/O Kannan, marking an important moment in reinforcing bilateral relations and fostering mutual understanding among institutions and diplomatic representatives.UMSU was represented by Abdurrahman Zuhdi, M.IKom, Head of the Bureau of Student, Alumni, and Cooperation; Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, M.A, Director of the Office of International Affairs & Cooperation (OIC); and Ridho Irawan, M.Si, Board Member of OIC.
Their presence symbolized the university’s strong commitment to international engagement and strategic partnerships.The gathering served as a platform for networking, dialogue, and appreciation, enabling participants to exchange perspectives on potential collaboration in education, student mobility, research, and cross-cultural initiatives.
Through this participation, UMSU reaffirmed its role as an internationally oriented institution that actively supports global cooperation and diplomacy, particularly in strengthening relationships with regional and international partners.This initiative reflects how UMSU continues to expand its global footprint by engaging in diplomatic and academic forums, fostering sustainable international partnerships, and enhancing its contribution to global education and collaboration.
