
Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) officially held a departure ceremony for students participating in the one-semester student exchange program at INTI International University, Malaysia. The ceremony was conducted solemnly and attended by university officials, lecturers, and the students’ families who provided moral support to the participants.
The ceremony was led directly by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Collaboration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si., who, in his remarks, expressed his support and motivation for the students embarking on their academic journey abroad. He emphasized the importance of this program in broadening international perspectives and strengthening academic collaboration networks between universities.

This student exchange program is designed to provide firsthand learning experiences abroad, strengthen academic skills, and broaden the students’ global horizons. By participating in this program, students are expected to develop cross-cultural competencies, boost their self-confidence, and enhance their competitiveness on an international level.
A total of 8 of Students UMSU students will participate in this program for one semester at INTI International University, Malaysia. They will have the opportunity to attend lectures, interact with students from various countries, and experience Malaysia’s rich and diverse local culture.
This departure ceremony also marks a historic moment for UMSU in strengthening international cooperation with various universities abroad. This program aligns with UMSU’s vision to become a world-class university capable of producing globally competitive graduates.
Through this student exchange program, UMSU students are expected to become educational ambassadors who bring the university’s good name to the international stage. Students are reminded to maintain good conduct, adhere to the regulations at the host university, and actively contribute to academic and social activities while in Malaysia.
The event concluded with a joint prayer session and a photo session involving the participating students, university officials, and their families. This activity marked the beginning of an academic journey and valuable international experience for UMSU students.
