
Medan, 5 December 2024 – The Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Medan, represented by Honorary Consul Mr. Martono Angusti, visited Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the Thai government and UMSU. The visit was marked by the handover of several book collections from the Thai Consulate General to UMSU.
Upon his arrival, Mr. Martono Angusti was warmly welcomed by prominent UMSU figures, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum (Deputy Chancellor I), Erwin Asmadi, S.H., M.H (Head of the UMSU General Administration Bureau), Muhammad Arifin (Head of the UMSU Library), and the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) Team. This gesture of cultural and educational exchange signifies the continued partnership and commitment to fostering academic collaboration.
The donated books, carefully curated by the Thai Consulate, are expected to enrich UMSU’s library collection and provide valuable resources for students and faculty to explore Thai culture, history, and education systems.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin expressed gratitude for the meaningful contribution, stating, “This donation reflects the strong bond between our institutions. We hope to deepen this collaboration through further educational and cultural programs.”
