On Thursday, 14 November 2024, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), and Uzbekistan-Finland Pedagogical Institute (UzFiPi) took a significant step in advancing educational technology with the virtual signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The event, graced by UMSU Vice Rector III, Assoc. Prof. Rudianto, M.Si, marked the beginning of a 24-month collaborative project titled Design and Development of Cognitive AI Chatbot for Academic Management in Higher Education Institutions. This groundbreaking initiative aims to revolutionize academic management through AI, enhancing student experience and administrative efficiency.
The project will be spearheaded by Dr. Salina Binti Mohd Asi from UniMAP, with key contributions from Dr. Al Khowarizmi from UMSU’s Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems and Dr. Safarov Akbar Raxmonovich of UzFiPi. Set to commence in 2024 and conclude by 2027, this partnership reflects the commitment of these institutions to innovation in academic management.
