niversitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) had the great honor of hosting Dr. Rose Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam, in a dynamic and inspiring Workshop on Research Methods for Agribusiness.
The workshop brought together 35 enthusiastic students from diverse study programs, including Shariah Business Management, Shariah Banking, Management, Accounting, Economic Development, Agrotechnology, and Agribusiness. With her extensive academic background and expertise in qualitative research, Dr. Rose led the session by focusing on one of the most fundamental techniques in social research—In-Depth Interviews.
Throughout the session, participants were actively engaged, demonstrating deep curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine eagerness to enhance their research capabilities. Dr. Rose’s practical approach and insightful guidance provided the students with valuable tools to conduct more effective and meaningful qualitative research, especially in the context of agribusiness studies.
Beyond technical skill-building, this workshop also served as a platform to foster academic cooperation and intercultural exchange between Indonesia and Brunei. The collaboration reflects UMSU’s commitment to expanding international academic networks and promoting cross-border knowledge sharing.
