Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) proudly marked a heartfelt farewell for the SEA-Teacher students from Central Luzon State University (CLSU), namely Ellen E. Rivera, Jamaica Marie T. Pagurayan, and Joanah Lee P. Corpuz, on April 17. The event brought together university representatives, fellow students, and academic staff to celebrate the meaningful journey of these international participants during their time at UMSU.
The farewell took place at UMSU, Indonesia, as part of the SEA-Teacher Program, an initiative designed to promote international teaching experience and cultural exchange among Southeast Asian universities. Throughout their stay, the students actively engaged in classroom teaching, collaborative learning, and various academic and cultural activities, creating a dynamic and enriching environment for both themselves and the UMSU community.
The purpose of this program is to foster global perspectives, strengthen cross-cultural understanding, and enhance teaching competencies among future educators. During their exchange, the CLSU students not only contributed to the learning process but also built strong connections, shared diverse perspectives, and left a lasting impression on students and lecturers alike.
As they return to their home country, they bring with them valuable experiences, cherished memories, and the spirit of global education and friendship. More than just a farewell, this moment reflects the success of international collaboration in shaping future educators who are ready to thrive in a globalized world, while reinforcing that UMSU will always remain their home away from home.
