A high-level delegation from PT. Garuda Global Impex visited the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatra Utara (UMSU) to explore a groundbreaking collaboration in the development of aromatic crops, marking a significant step toward innovation in Indonesia’s agricultural sector. The visit brought together key stakeholders, including Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, S.H., M.Hum., representatives from the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing sustainable and profitable agricultural practices.
The meeting took place at UMSU, Indonesia, as part of an initiative to strengthen partnerships between academia and industry. During the session, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on how to transform Indonesia’s rich spice heritage into a modern, high-tech essential oil industry. This initiative is designed to create added value for local commodities while integrating advanced technologies in cultivation, processing, and commercialization.
The purpose of this collaboration is to enhance farmer prosperity by shifting from traditional practices to a more innovative and market-oriented approach. By leveraging research, technology, and global market access, the partnership aims to empower farmers, improve productivity, and increase the economic value of aromatic crops.
This collaboration will be implemented through joint research programs, knowledge exchange, and the development of sustainable production systems.
