
Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) proudly hosted a Visiting Lecturer Program featuring two distinguished scholars from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharmini Abdullah and Dr. Habee Bullah Affandy, accompanied by the Head of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC).
The program was held at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), UMSU, bringing together lecturers and students in an engaging academic atmosphere.
This international academic exchange aimed to enhance global perspectives, digital readiness, and international collaboration within the UMSU academic community. It also supported UMSU’s commitment to preparing educators and students for future global challenges.
During the sessions, participants explored a wide range of future-oriented topics, including cross-cultural translation, media ethics in the digital era, English confidence building, leadership empowerment, teaching in English for lecturers, and artificial intelligence skills for tomorrow’s media

professionals.
The program was conducted through interactive lectures, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions, encouraging active participation and practical insight exchange between the visiting scholars and the UMSU academic community.
Overall, the Visiting Lecturer Program marked a significant step forward in strengthening international academic partnerships, fostering innovation, and advancing UMSU’s role in global higher education.
