Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra has agreed to establish international cooperation to improve and develop education with Edutolia Education, and three universities in Turkey.
The signing of the MoU between UMSU and Edutolia Education was carried out directly by the Chancellor of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP at the 2025 Turkish University Fair, Wednesday (30/4) at the Ballroom of the Adimulia Hotel Medan, Jl. Pangeran Diponegoro No.8 Medan.
Next, the signing of the MoU between UMSU and three campuses by the Chancellor was represented by Vice Chancellor III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Sc. Edutolia Education is an institution that focuses on developing educational relations between Indonesia and Turkey.Meanwhile, the 3 universities that signed the MoU were universities in Turkey, Kayseri University, Burbur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Evsehir Haci Bektas Veli University.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was witnessed by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Medan, Dr. H. Rahmat Shah, and the CEO of Edutolia, Ibrahim Albayrak. Accompanied by the Chairperson of OIC Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, S.Sos., M.A. and the Secretary of OIC UMSU, Muhammad Syahreza Hafiz, M.Acc.
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Medan, Dr. H. Rahmat Shah said that this collaboration is a form of concern for education.”High knowledge, noble character, integrity and upholding religious values with humanitarian values are what we need in Indonesia. We can share the advantages of Turkey or from us and cover each other’s shortcomings,” he said.
Then, Prof. Dr. Agussani said that this collaboration is a concrete step for UMSU in internationalizing the campus, as well as opening up broad opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, research, and academic exchange.”This is an important momentum for UMSU to develop an international academic atmosphere and encourage opportunities for cooperation between countries,” said Prof. Agussani. In the forum, UMSU also explained a number of institutional advantages in front of more than 20 university delegations in Turkey. One of UMSU’s advantages is the existence of the Astronomy Observatory which is a leading research center in the field of Islamic astronomy.
“UMSU also has a Astronomy Study Program which is rare in Indonesia and has great potential to be developed with foreign partners, including from Turkey,” he added.Meanwhile, Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Si added that previously UMSU had established various international collaborations including with several universities in Turkey, and is now expanding the scope of its partnerships.
“We are very pleased to be able to meet with university delegations in Turkey, hoping that through this forum we can create various synergistic programs, such as joint research, student and lecturer exchanges, and other international programs,” explained Rudianto.
