MARDI Malaysia hosted the Majlis Penghargaan Pelajar Latihan Industri on October 1, 2026, marking the official closing ceremony of the internship program for students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU). The event included the presentation of certificates to 34 students and two supervising lecturers.
The ceremony was attended by the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd., along with YBrs Dr. Sanimah Binti Simoh, Deputy Director General (Development & Operations) of MARDI. The 21-day program took place from September 13 to October 3, 2026. During the program, students conducted research across various fields, including food technology, agribusiness, soil, water and fertilizers, horticulture, and other disciplines, with the target output of publishing in SINTA 3 accredited journals.
UMSU expressed its gratitude to MARDI for their guidance and support throughout the program. This collaboration is expected to continue in order to enhance students’ competencies and open up further opportunities for joint research and publication.
