A strategic step toward strengthening human resource development was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) and Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas Medan (BBPVP Medan) on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Afriansyah Noor, S.T., M.Si., Vice Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, along with university leaders, government representatives, and institutional partners. On this occasion, UMSU was represented by Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, M.A., Director of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) UMSU, and Lutfriansyah, M.Ak from the Career Development and Alumni Centre (CDAC) UMSU, who joined the BBPVP Medan delegation in formalizing the strategic collaboration.
Held in Medan, the initiative aims to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions and vocational training centers in improving the quality of human resources. The partnership is expected to support the development of various training programs, enhance workforce skills, and align educational initiatives with industry needs.
Through this collaboration, UMSU and BBPVP Medan reaffirm their commitment to expanding opportunities for students and the wider community to improve their competencies and readiness to meet the evolving demands of the job market. The partnership also highlights the importance of strategic cooperation between universities and vocational training institutions in supporting national workforce development and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s human resources in the future.
